I have a virus in my computer which causes the cursor to place itself in a different position occasionally as I'm typing. In other words, I can be typing and all of a sudden the cursor may move itself to another sentence or paragraph or if I'm filling out a form even to another box.

I've run several anti-virus programs and nothing shows up.

The problem showed up all at once.

I know it's a virus because when my laptop gave me a problem I had the hard drive recovered. I bought a new laptop and installed the saved files. The new computer cursor acted as I described.I thought something was wrong with the computer and returned it.

They fixed my old laptop and I reinstalled the files, my old computer started the same thing.

Someone PLEASE HELP ME. It's really aggravating and causes a lot of problems.

Your problem could be caused by a person who has remote access to your desktop or a mouse malfunction.

If its the first case, you have a backdoor trojan infecting your computer. As you've already run anti-virus programs, this is most likely not the case (unless the program is seriously behind on updates). Try reinstalling the mouse's driver or replacing the batteries and cleaning it up.

try to delete all files in temp directory under WINDOWS directory
try to uninstall all unnecessary programs. But be careful not to delete useful files
Try to reduce cursor speed from desktop.
Disable macros to run in your editor (Word)
Update your antivirus program. Shutdown your computer, then open it run the virus program.

I didn't think that was a virus. My computer at work started doing that after I had a webex with a repair technician where he took control of the computer remotely.

Try buying a new mouse - seriously, sometimes when I view a webpage the mouse will slowly move. It doesn't bother me, but if I bought a new mouse it might stop.
