Hi, I want to buy a pair of high heel shoes, 4" and silver. I have found that when I sit, I often raise my feet up so the balls of my feet are touching the ground, and my heels are up high. So I want to try it wearing high heel shoes. But I spoke to a friend about this and she said that this is just the start of cross-dressing and I should not buy a pair. I disagree with her so want advice on what to do and should I buy them anyway. Thanks.

Even if it did lead to cross-dressing, is that a problem?

I don't believe that shoes have a gender, or that wearing them can bring down society, so why not?

You may find it difficult to walk in them at first, of course, so don't wear them around your friend until you're proficient at them. Then, consider how judgemental her comment was and let her know.

Im in the shoe agency and what i understand is in case you're searching for womens shoes in length 3 you've a situation with the aid of the undeniable fact that's going to be very not straight forward to locate. they commence from length 5 in the US. both length 4 or 5 i imagine in uk. For little ones Walmart, Payless etc have thick 2" heel shoes. in case you locate shoes with a platform too which could make you taller.

I think everyone should have the freedom to wear whatever they feel comfortable in. You could argue that only someone who was insecure about the masculinity of their appearance could feel that something as trivial as a pair of shoes would undermine their gender identity. And even if it did make you look "feminine" what's so bad about that? Oscar Wilde said (the gist anyway!) that the best men have something feminine in them and the best women have a bit of masculine in them - and I think you'll find that most heterosexual girls are attracted to men who are comfortable with a bit of femininity.

Anyway, fashion and the meaning of what is associated with masculine and feminine changes all the time. 100 years ago a girl would be seen as masculine for wearing trousers but now there's nothing unfeminine about a girl in trousers - and this is because so many girls have worn trousers that trousers are no longer associated just with men - the weight of habit changes the perception of what "masculine" and "feminine" mean.

So basically if you hang out with judgmental people and you're scared of being mocked, don't do it. But if you want to do it, and you like the idea of helping to shaping the future direction of gendered clothing, do it!

I don't think it's really cross-dressing unless you buy a dress to match the shoes...lol, but on a serious note, think about men in the 1800's around Amadeus's time, most of the men wore heels on they're shoes, it was a sign of wealth.

If you want to try heels, go for it.
Your friend is wrong. Wearing heels does not turn you into a crossdresser.
If you are a crossdresser or not, YOU will know this by now.

If you only think about wearing them when you are sat down, don't bother because when you are stood up and walking around they are an instrument of torture! 4" inch heels will take practice and despite the open mindedness of the posters here, a lot of people would consider it ... somewhat unusual.

high heels are usually worn by women or TV's- but simon cowell wears massive Cuban Heels, so maybe you should try a pair of them first and if they're not high enough, get some higher one.

I'm with the "GO FOR IT!" crowd. I have been wearing heels for quite a long time now and I love them. Heels are wonderful, but they do take getting used to, so take your time and enjoy yourself I know I do and so does my wife.

Seems like a closed case to me. Why does what she say matter? So you wanna try high heels. Big whoop. Go ahead and buy them. Wear them. PRACTICE in them or you'll fall on your butt....:) What's the big deal?
