Spending some time with him, maybe just the two of you. What is it that he likes to do with you? Think of the games or things he has taught you, and do one of those.
Its funny how we seem to get very sentimental over Mother's Day, but have difficulty with father's day. Dad's are just as sensitive and caring as mom's, so I'm sure if you were to make him a nice dinner, write him a poem, draw him a picture, etc he would be very pleased.
And the best thing you can give him is to let him know how much you love him. Somehow we seem to forget to tell our dad's this as much as we tell our moms.

Why is it that people come on here and expect a total stranger to know what their father would like for fathers day when you have known him your whole life has no idea. I mean if you really want people to help you with this try giving out some information about him .... I do not know ... say like what he likes to do in his spare time... hobbies he might have. Then if you know all of this then you ought to know what to get him. Geee whiz get a clue.

Ouch. He's a year older than me.
I would enjoy a card, (ALWAYS get a card) and dinner at one of his favorite places. It doesn't have to be costly, just a place where you can get away for a bit and spend a little quality time together as Dad and Daughter.

I am 45 and I would say it depends on his interest..If he is into sports get him something sports related..You know him best so use your knowlege of him and go by that it shows your thoughtfulness when you demonstrate that you recognize his interest...but the best present for a father from his daughter is a heart felt I love you.

Go on walmart.com and get him something personalized. Like a "meaning of father" plaque with his name engraved. Also pick a card that actually pertains to him. Good luck!

If you have been a loving and caring child of his, that is more than a gift to him. Anyway you know your father better than any of us here, you know his likes and dislikes. Try to remember anything that he has mentioned he wanted or something that he wanted to do.
