Lately it wasn't. I opened up my feelings towards a good friend of mine - I expressed my feelings of love towards him - HONESTLY - and... look there: I lost the friendship cause after these confessions there is just no turning back!
And now I am terribly sorry for the friendship and for having shown jealousy and for having said things I shouldn't have said. I wish I could have kept it secret till the end of time... or at least till I found somebody new - and then I would be still friends with him and laugh for myself in silence of how stupid I was before for having imagined more into it than there actually was.
NO, honesty is not always the best policy!
It makes you vulnerable and exposed to the possibility of being hurt in your feelings.

Yes many times. One example is to lie when you don't want to hurt someones feeling. Lets say that Suzie bought a dress which she thought was nice. Then Johnnie came over to pick her up. Then Suzie's asks "Johnnie Do you like my dress?" If Johnnie tells Suzie that the dress is horrible well you know how bad Suzie will feel. She would fell terrible of course.

No, but I know my mom can. She and my Aunt Marta were getting dressed up for this party. My mother told my Aunt Marta that she looked great, but that she should loose the white tights she was wearing. Turns out, she wasn't wearing tights at all!My mother still feels so guilty, and my Aunt Marta always uses tanning oil now.

Yes, when an old lady i know who was on her deathbed asked how her dog was i told her "just fine, he's grand". The dog had been run over the day before.

once i was really scared to tell my friend that i saw his boyfriend cheating on her.....i didn't say it which i thought was really wrong, then again after a week we went out 3 of us then i saw the girl it was her boyfriend's sister......good thing i didn't said it her and lie
