not that quikly. The flux of the magnet would have to flow in the same direction as the battery to assist the flux that is already flowing from negative to positive. That's why batteries go down by themselves. If you cut a hole in a piece of paper the same size as the battery and put the battery half-way in, put some metal filings around it and you can see the magnetic flux I'm talking about.

I don't have the proof to back up my claim, but I'm almost certain that magnetic fields have no affect on batteries.

i have a pacemaker for my heart powered by batteries and one of the things i was told to stay away from was magnets so i would think they must have some effect.
