Has anyone tried to get to the root of this childs problem? I mean it sounds like she has some issues that need help. Maybe in the time you have her you could try and give her more positive attention and ignore the negative when she displays it...I am raising a mentally disabled 12 year old.. and trust me it's not easy with as many issues as she has, but in some cases the child really can't help behaving as they do... You should keep a journal of how she acts at your house, then show it to her mom when they return for her. Maybe there is some way you can be the "adult" in the relationship with your friend and let her know what may or may not be going on with her child. I wish you luck.. and try to have a good time with her.. it seems like maybe that is all she needs... But do not break your household rules to keep her happy... You must report back and let us all know how it went!!!

Mature adequate, perhaps, incredibly if it particularly is basically a pair of times a month. 5 days each week, once you're at artwork it particularly is soliciting for hassle. maximum folk of any age do no longer might desire to be on my own that plenty. He would not sound like he has adequate to do, so he will locate some thing. the two my young ones spent a important sort of time on my own at that age. One became greater of an introvert--no longer undesirable then, in spite of the indisputable fact that it easily made a unfavorable time later in existence plenty worse; the different took up smoking with an area buddy, became a situation at college, and wound up hospitalized. ultimately I paid a school pupil to be there numerous afternoons each week. proper money I ever spent. In a miles less dramatic state of affairs, the females will come over and he will invite them in. despite if each thing is thoroughly harmless bodily, somebody gets her thoughts harm, and he would be out of his intensity in that situation. Having a grown-up around is purely effective. in case you tell him that they are in a position to't are available in, he will disobey you or replace into particularly unpopular for no longer disobeying.

Tell her she has to follow the rules of the house. I would not say leaving lights on are disfunctional though. Most kids and many adults leave lights on.

Set some ground rules, such as: in our house we bathe daily, no talking back, no door slamming, etc..
I have found that kids lacking discipline thrive on it...She may never want to leave you if you give her boundaries..
Having dated a man with a daughter that you described, it was a fight in the beginning but she loved me for being sturn..gained a lot of respect!! Her parents will be envious.....And, by the way, GOOD LUCK....keep your cool

Ohhh! It's gonna be hard. I've been a foster parent and when these children come to us the only thing we can do is love them, be an example for them, and guide them. Most important is that you make sure she understands the rules of your home. Good luck and I pray you're blessed.

12 years vs 2 weeks...seem obvious....you lose...you can be an example but lets face it your odds of making a signifacant change in anyones behavior in two weeks are slim and none.

Just lead by example, and when she does something inappropriate, just tell her that it's not acceptable in your home. I won't guarantee this will work, but it's probably the best you can do. Good luck.
