When you shave your legs, dont press too hard and use a three bladed razor. What happend was you actually shaved the top layer of skin off on your hair folicles, because they stick out. It is very minor, but the sea salt irritated the wounds. Always use a fresh razor and make sure you dont shave when you are cold, goosebumps will form and you will be shaving the tops of them and get those red dots.

Razor Burn. - Doesn't always show right after shaving.
You should give a FULL 24 hrs after shaving, before jumping into sea water OR pool water... I would bi-pass the local swimming hole as well (cos of germs).
Try using some aftershave creme for sensitive skin. - Had a friend who used baby oil after shaving.
When I was 12, I shaved my legs before going to the local swimming pool, I got there, my Mom told me to get in the water or go home... I got in and right back out.. screammmmmmming!!
Chlorine HURTS raw / rough / razor burned body parts! As does the SALT WATER...
Take care.

PS - Use Nair if you want - but be forwarned, they suggest you NOT go in the water for 24 hrs either!! So be super careful, cos Nair and other such products open your hair spors wider, so the hairs just come out, and it takes awhile for them to close back up!! So be very careful when using a hair "removal" creme!!

The jelly fish were having a field day. They avoid hairy legs cause they can't stand hair. Every jelly fish hates hair. Without hair on your legs, swimming in that water, you were inviting them to come and dine and frolic upon smooth skin, and you had no idea what was going on.
Go back tomorrow and do it again. Jelly fish are nice adorable lovable creatures, but they do sting a bit.

Sodium in the sea water ... you have razor burn. Splash them with some witch hazel which will draw out the salt, then follow up with shea or cocoa butter.
Either that, or you were stung repeatedly by a man-o-war ...
Just keep swimming, just keep swimming ...
Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming ...

When you shave you are likely to inflict small cuts on your skin. The salt water gets in the open wounds and stings. It should heal fairly quickly though, as salt water kills bacteria, so there's unlikely to be any infection.

Open Pores and you had salt water go in the pores. Try waxing the day before and then get a hot shower. Before you get out close your pores up by blasting cold water on them. That should work.

you should have moisturized before shaving and the razor wouldn't have cut your legs so bad...also, the salt water of the sea hit the cuts and that's why they hurt ......put a light lotion or cream on to heal the little cuts and give it a few days,,,,then use shave gel..

you probably received slight cuts during shaving and then they became irritated by the salt water you should probably wait a few days to swim next time or don't shave if you have to swim
