Well it can be done fairly easily. You'll need to tear the old roof off and where it met the walls attach your rafters 16" on center and cover with plywood and shingles. I know it's more complicated than that but that's the jist of it...Good luck

easiest way.........
cut off old overhang on shed roof..........

install 2- 2 x 4 on top of each other right over the outside walls or load bearing beam ( if no walls ).........we also strap our plates down to the wall of beams.

order a set of roof trusses 4/12 pitch.......

u will need 11 trusses if the "A" is over the 12 side.....( 2 gable and 9 reg trusses, remember , 1 to start with )

u will need 7 trusses if u turn the "A" the 20' side.

i would do it the 12 side because the gable will be smaller and less work and siding in the gable....

a gable on a 4/12 pitch on the 12' side will be about 2' tall
a gable on the 20' side would be about 40" tall( much more material.......

anchor truss to plates with( ask for H 10 clips )

cover in osb or plywood, use plywood clips between sheathing..

felt and shingle.
