Ive kinda been researching this and it seems they tie up the courts with ridiculus law suits, and seem to over throw or "bully" their way into the government and peoples buisnesses. Not saying this is the case just seems a little like it to me.

If you watch the ACLU only fights rediculous suits that the outcome would be obvious to anyone with a brain or that wasnt liberal! what about the young marines in the brig at camp pendelton in shackles 24 hours a day and have not been charged with anything as of yet if that were a black man or an illegal imigrent they would be having a hissy fit.

When the 'under God' was first put in our Pledge, the Congress need the ACLU's stamp of approval--and they got it. The ACLU originally thought it would be a nice gesture to the American people, but it simply led to a bunch of crazy holy than thou false-Christians who claim that a world without their lifestyles and their opinions of perfection is sinful and should be bombed!

self-Righteous inconsiderate religious people have made the ACLU what it is--a protector of the little guy. Maybe if you had offered to put the Bill of Rights instead of the Ten Commandment, and then claim that it hurt NOBODY, we wouldn't be in this position today.

Like it or not, no matter how many court cases the ACLU gets into, they will almost always win, because as far as the Constitution is concerned--THEY ARE RIGHT, so DEAL WITH IT SCHMUCK!

The ACLU has provided legal aid to hundreds of people who needed it and couldn't otherwise aquire it. The most famous ACLU lawyer was probably Clarence Darrow, who challenged a Tennessee state law that outlawed teaching evolutionary theory in public school classes. The event is often referred to as the "Scopes Monkey Trial". They also played a part in Brown vs. Board of education, the Supreme Court case that ended racial segregation in public schools.

Check out the links below for lists of the major court cases that the ACLU has been involved in.

Have you not realised that these type of organizations exist solely to keep corrupt legislators and others from trumping on your "rights" as expressed in the bill of rights and constitution? It's organizations like these and a few others which makes the gov't live up to the promises of the constitution. Totalx21 gave a good response. Seems like people don't value the freedom of the constitution anymore.

The ACLU protects constitutional rights, no matter how unpopular the position they are defending is. Most importantly they defend free speech and freedom of the press, without which a democracy cannot operate. If you stated your opinion, whatever it may be, and were legally attacked for it, they would defend you too. Their law suits are not ridiculous.
