hey i do that too! apparently its bad for your body because one continous sleep in a dark place is better to rest or vital organs blah blah blah. if you sleep at noon, more than 8 hours, im sure its ok though. as for health. aside from health, it totally affects like meeting people and getting phone calls etc. but you're only concerned about the physical body part of it right? im sure u alrady know its not a really good idea, though unevitable

As long as you get 6-8 continuous hours of sleep you should be okay. If you try to get a few hours here and a few hours there you are going to become exhausted. I work nights, so I have been sleeping during the day and staying up all night for about 2 1/2 years now. I became used to it after after a few months. It really doesn't matter if you sleep during the day or at night. For some people it can be really hard to sleep during the day because its not normal for a person to do that.

Studies have shown that people who sleep during the day when there is light in their room are more likely to have melatonin problems, which can throw off their circadian rythyms. These rythyms are responsible for restorative sleep, and if disrupted, your body will not be able to cope with physical stress. If you are going to sleep during the day, try to use very heavy curtains to block all light and use bright lights when you stay up at night.

I work overnights and sleep during the day after work...its hard falling asleep...so I use sleeping pills (but only the ones that are not habit forming)...I get the normal amt of sleep--8 hours--every day...

...it also helps if its completely dark and quiet...or taking a warm bath and drinking something warm to help you relax before you fall asleep during the day...

I don't really think it matters. My sister works the night shift at a hospital so she sleeps during the day and she seems just fine.
