Do rich people keep such tight circles because they can't trust people with less affluence?

A very 'judgemental' question ... do you actually know many or are you just jumping to the conclusion you are saying they jump to?
Right or wrong people mix in their own social classes due to proximity of the areas they live in, business connections and attending the same events. While there will be many who will actively avoid "people of less affluence" I think that to generalise on the basis of a perceived attribute (i.e. lack of trust) is wrong.

Really rich or just rich-rich? Don't know any one really rich. But Most people think I am? It just kind of snuck up on us.We have a percentage put into savings automatically and did not open our bank statements for years [really] . Still have the same friends. But our family's think we are the bank with no repayment plan!Most of our family members won't speak to us cause we want OUR money back. If you are related to me [and you know who you are] $20 a month would be a start!

not all rich people are snobs. but they stay with their own kind.why ?Bull crap why would they talk to you if you had nothing to add to the money they have.That's all they want more money.My view is the ricest people on earth are the ones with true Friends we are the richest.I know alto of rich people and believe me they are never happy.If you could be rich and have Friends that would be great but they think everyone is after their money.So they put up walls to keep us away.

No, because when you have money, everyone wants to borrow it and friends sometimes figure they don't have to pay you back because you have so much you won't notice or they get mad because you don't loan money. They also don't have enough to do all the things you can do.

no, i think they are used to being used by those less fortunate, so they tend to relax (and let into their circle) others with the same level of income. they know they probably won't be used in that way.
