If your ex is saying that he's going to hurt himself if you don't go back to him, then he is trying to blackmail you emotionally. He may also be a bit unbalanced.
Going back to him would be a huge mistake, and I would also suggest that he visits a therapist at some point soon.

Dont fall into that trap, like the other people were saying. It is purely emotional blackmail. He's trying to get you to feel sorry and scared that he's going to actually hurt himself. There's a 50/50 chance he might, and there's a definite chance that he's not. Cuz once he gets you, and you fall into his trap of "Oh you better not leave, or im going to hurt myself, if you do." Don't get into that kind of emotional wrap, its not healthy, especially on your end of it all. Trust me, if you go back with this guy, he's gonna hold that over your head and shoulders, until you've become mental (well not really lol). But anyways, I ask that you pray to god, for the right guidance, and ask him to give you the strength to look past your ex.

This is just an attention grabber,something to make you fell sorry for him. (But) If he's shone tendencies,to mutilate himself in the past,then I'd tell someone,because he just may be suicidal. If he uses these words,everytime you get mad at him,then taking him back only means he's got your mind wrapped around his sticky little fingers. "LEAVE HIS A.S.S ALONE". He'll end up physically hurting you some day. Nobody's worth dying over,and you surely don't want his death on your conscience. It's not your fault,that he has such low self esteem. Drop that "Zero",and find yourself a "Hero".

it's probably the most widely used method for a person to get an ex to come back.people who say these things,rarely hurt themselves,it's the ones who say nothing that mean it.

He sounds obsessed with you. Beware of him because he could turn into a stalker. (I have had a few, one now as we speak) . I suggest ignoring him and if he continues to bother you get a restraining order.
