I always thought it did. I wonder what came first, the tattoo trend on the lower back or the low rise coin slots?
I missed that trend by only a year or two (too old). I assumed it was just a nice decoration for a guy to meditate on if he were behind you for one reason or another.

People get tattoo's as body art, No matter if they are male or female, when some one has a tattoo people look at the tattoo. Now by placing the tattoo on the lower back it tells people look I have a tattoo on my lower back, and while you're looking at that you can look at my @$$ also.

I have a two tattoos on my back. I had them put there because I am a professional and didn't want my tattoos to show at the office. Having them on my back means that I can show them to someone if I want to, but that if I am in a setting where I don't want to be judged by ignorant people, like some who have answers posted above, they don't even know they are there. It does not mean that I am easy or stupid. It simply means that my business in my business and you don't see it unless I want you to.

I have a tattoo on my lower back, right above my "split" that says: PLAYGIRL.......It attracts attention for sure!

i happen to have one on my lower back and it says my girlfirends name she wanted me to put it there so every one could see it or if we break up and some one was hitting it from the back her name would always be visiable, im always hers
