Depends, are you already independently wealthy? If so, open your own business. Naturally you'll get a quick education if you don't research what it will be that you'll be pursuing. Luck and being in the right place at the right time has a lot to do with making a lot of money without an education now-a-days. You will find a lot of People that made it big without being formally educated, but they worked harder than most pursuing their dream and passions. I like to look at Colin Powell for example, he was educated at NYC and was a C student, well, we all know what he has done for our country, and many think he would make a fine president which I would have a tendency to agree with.

Construction - If you like what you do, are good at it, and are dependable, willing to work hard 8 to 12 hours a day, honest, and always keep your word, and most of all put your trust in God to provide for you what you need, you will be successful.
Every contractor and subcontractor that I know (most of which have no college ed.), who follow these guidelines, are making at least 6 figure incomes. They all own their own homes and drive new cars and trucks and etc..
You don't need a lot of employee's or thousands of dollars to do it either. I have 2 employee's and make more money then a lot of doctor's and lawyer's do.
If you have the opportunity to go to college that's great! if your cut out for it, however, not all of us are. You can get just as good or better results learning to work with your hands and starting your own business in the 4 years or more it takes to get a degree.
My field? Masonry contractor

I have a one year certificate in computer science and have become a successful software engineer. I lead a team of five developers and earn R30000 per month.
In my opinion I have chosen the best career path for me. The demands are great and require 100% commitment but the rewards are equally as great. The most challenging aspect is the delegation of tasks to the right people, and of course time management when we have deadline to meet.
The next greatest challenge is keeping on top of technology (and making sure I deserve my package by remain the most knowledgable member of our team).

Start your own business with the skills you already have. Those who can work with their hands are raking in the dough these days, carpentar, landscaping, dog walker...anyone who can provide those services that two income families can not do because of their work constraints.
