Er would help to know the ages...

ie car key swingers parties aint suitable for 12 year olds and tea parties with a clown wont do 19 year olds...

**************************************

Thats better age wise... the reason I asked is suggesting tequella races, sucking shot drinks run on a table on fire and wet boxer competituions would not be wise for 13-14 year olds.

However as soon as you dissappear it would not surprise me if games of spin the bottle to see who kisses who start up. Hopefully no futher.

You starting to get into teenage stuff (just ) that age so nothing babyish... think teenagers with L plates. They will want to feel grown up but don't let things get out of hand.

Let nay first kisses go ahead and be specail but not to go much futher.

Discos get a DJ, maybe let them get involved,,, Hire a smoke machine, UV lights to make things glow. Bluetack black bin bags to the walls and use UV hairspray to sort of graphiit (as washes off) cool wacky glow in the dark with the UV light stuff... Maybe a speaking wall with UV hairgel or pens for who loves who 9expect rude stuff)

But also kids stuff sort of too. (ie will still want brownies).

As said you are in the transitional age so pull this off you scopre some my mum thinks we growing up points.

Keep an eye on the punch and make sure nothing gets intoxicating enhancements. Expect maybe a fight as someone two times the other. Or the 14year olds to kiss somewhere.

What may be an idea is to reqruit someone older who is the 'party animal who makes sure everyone is safe type' .

In the 50s this would be Fonz if you can sort of get the idea and leave him in charge with you nearby if needed so they can feel free of the oldies and party but are being watched... This kind of person will also know all the tricks you are too old to remeber (ie spiking the punch). But be able to party as if the right person seen as cool. Just not into the same music as fonz.

Something more up to date...

If you have the cash hire boncy boxing or a surf similator.

As said discos dont work if brightly lit you need atmosphere so replace all the bulbs bar bathroom and a chill out one with coloured ones or UV (black light ultra violet).

Maybe add a theme like horror.

Not toga as they aint that grown up yet.

If you have the lights on its like a concert at closing time... Hence all the black bin liners (which protect the walls) with unltra violent so golows in the dark and disco lights... Smoke machines add atmosphere and let you see the light beams...

Go for beam lights not bolb lights ie scanners... One scanner beats spread bulbs... If rich hire a green or blue laser with the smoke that will look fantasic...

Then with a band or dj.

Let that be the start them let them take over (under the supervision of that party animals but responsible spy). So they hairspray the designs on their binliner walls and pick the music (which you won't like)

My cousin (17) just had her party and they hired a karoake guy. Everybody was really into it and they had a lot of fun! You could also do some fun games. One good one is to write the names of famous people on labels and put one on each person's back as they arrive. They have to ask other people questions to find out their own identity. (You could make them all teen pop stars or movie stars or something.) Another fun game is easy to set up and fun for groups. Lay out a space in the yard or a room with a big floor space. Throw a bunch of things down (use anything, pots pans, stuffed animals..) and make an obstacle course. Blindfold one person on the team and they have to make it to the other end of the course only by listening to their temamates tell them when to go left, right, step over something. If they touch anything they have to go back. Once one person makes it across, they give the blindolfd to the next team member but then stay on the far side. See who can get all their teammates across first. This game is always a hit but usually gets pretty loud with everyone yelling directions to the blindfolded team member. It is a blast though.

I will never forget a party that we had when I was about 18, it was a "garbage bag party." Everyone had to come dressed in nothing but garbage bags and wow was it cool! Some girls made bikinis and miniskirts using white, orange green & black bags; the guys did loincloths and vests and even pants and kilt-type things. Our mistake was having it on a really hot day - everyone was sweating - but man I wish I had had a camera. Everyone's creativity really came out and those who showed up in their own clothes were given scissors and garbage bags and tape and told to get dressed properly.

And we drank a lot of beer and had a lot of fun, the end.

I've been to many amny parties, and the most memorable one was the one that sounded worst on paper... Start at before lunch - have a big treasure hunt, then back for a big meal, mucho booze and the dancing and romancing bit!!

White party (everyone wears white); 60´s party
As for games, we usually play a game where everyone writes 2 or more questions on a equal number of papers and then everyone takes turns on choosing a paper and answering a question.

13-14 yr olds dont need much structure to their parties as most prefer to do their own thing.

Could do a theme, hollywood glitz/prom etc decorate with loads of silver shiny stuff

Theme parties. When inviting have everyone dress according to the theme: Circus, pirate, etc. Enjoy!

Hi l*****! me n l***e have been talking and it migt not go ahead!?!?! But anyway i think that sleepovers are good and so are discos with a theme or withoutone! i think that youd need good games like spin da bottle karyoke and twister etc! as for sleepovers singstar, eye toy, slutty makeovers are enough to fill my needs any day!

What about a colour theme - purple party or green party? Black and white always works well too ...
