And what if you have important things to do? Do you still give yourself some time to relax or do you first do what you need,so you can rest and have fun later?

I feel like I'm having deja vu all over again. ;-) Well, Moon, when there's golf on the telly, that's guaranteed relaxation -- invariably replete with a lovely nap on the couch -- right there! Seriously, I do try to chill out on the weekend after a busy work week but I often find I'm quite busy racing around doing the things I'm unable to get to during said work week. It's a delicate balance between resting/relaxing, getting chores done and socializing (i.e., getting seriously drunk! {kidding}). ;-)

I agree with your follow-up point about how there really are things to be done and it's actually quite difficult to simply put your feet up and rest when you know this. The best formula is to balance the two, invariably by getting the serious work out of the way first. Once done, you really can relax (guilt-free) and enjoy the remainder of your weekend... assuming you don't wake up after getting all these chores done and find it's freaking Monday! :0

And finally, as I've already answered elsewhere on this site (a question posed by a mutual friend, in fact), getting a good dose of fresh air and exercise is, I think, critical to recharging your depleted cells (including the tiny grey ones). So get out there and take a walk or a hike. Ride your bike. Play some golf or tennis. Toss that Frisbee around with friends. Lawn croquet, anyone? (I LOVE that game!) Whatever works for you, get out and do it. It often turns out to be the best form of relaxation you're likely to find on the weekend -- aside from napping to televised golf, of course. ;-)

I'm in exactly the same position :-( I have to clean up my room, tidy up the huge pile of clothes, books and papers that has accumulated during the week, and go shopping to find something for Father's Day, although I know the commercial part of town will be madness. Plus I have a couple of translations to finish. And I don't want to do any of those things!
The worst is that feeling guilty prevents me from having fun while _not_ doing what I should.
And the good thing is that we have a national holiday on Monday so I don't have to prepare my Monday class. One less thing to do.

Anyway, your original question was What do I do to relax? I read, I listen to music, I go for walks if the weather allows it, and most important of all I get to spend lots of time with my boyfriend :-), maybe watch a movie, or just drink mates and talk... those are the moments I enjoy the most.
I also use crocheting for relaxation, it works great!

Have a nice weekend :-)

I ran go us of a besides and understand ok of the pressure you talk of till now a meet. you could attempt some respiratory routines, or seen routines (like envision your self arriving on the meet region, getting warmed up, getting on the starting up line, etc.). the following is a tip once you're operating :) - under no circumstances enable the pressure make you commence off quite strong....people have a tendency to opt to run as quick as they could be able to at contemporary from the starting up and also you may drain your power quite quick that way, you'd be dragging some thing of the meet. commence off at a sturdy p.c.. that you'll be able to take care of, even with if it type of feels slower than each man or woman else's....through the time each man or woman begins to decelerate you'll nevertheless have some power left to sprint previous some people.

I feel the same way. My husband and son took a fishing trip this weekend and I am trying to relax this weekend and enjoy the peace and quiet but it seems abnormal around here. I think I will go to some garage sales this morning. I am so use to doing something all the time.

There are many things that I enjoy doing, to relax. :) I love sipping on a glass of wine, reading a good book, going for a long walk, cooking, listening to music, knitting, taking a bubble bath, watching movies, going for a drive....

There are so many wonderful ways to relax, I don't think that I could ever list them all, lol. :)

In my younger days, I loved sunbathing by the pool all day long (in summertime), but I no longer do that. I also find planting flowers in my garden, and tending them, to be quite relaxing! :)

I never relax. I am a teacher and a Mom of 3 boys, so my weekend is getting my house back together. If I do get a chance to sit, I read a magazine I pick up while grocery shopping, that is my perk.
Though I am sitting here now answering this... my 5 yr old is asking me the names of all his dinosaurs too. Multi tasking gotta love it.
Cant wait 'til summer.

Always take time to relax. Don't do a whole lot. Watch a ballgame. Take the kids out. Barbecue. Sit by the river. A great weekend to you also.
