There are only 3 of us who use this pc and none of us have or would have gone onto sites like this. How can this happen? Could someone be hacking our pc?
Previously I used to wake up and would find Casinos had downloaded stuff overnight to the pc as I would find icons on the desktop. Yet the pc on both occasions is switched off at night.

Suggestions on how this is happening would be appreciated.

All are updated or we check for updates several times a week.
No virus has been detected.
No spyware (to our knowledge) has been detected
We clean up the registry on pc using Windows washer several times a day.
No programmes (unknown to us) have been added to our "add/remove" programmes.

it would be a virus if it was indeed that none of you actually went on the sites...things to stop this from happeneing is to turn the computer off(you already do) and to unplug or turn off the internet modem...this will stop any way from anybody getting on your computer. Also a good idea would to download the free versions of Spybot, and any kind of anti-virus software to protect your computer(like AVG)...to download these look at the sources list...once you have downloaded them, you should keep the computer disconnected form any internet source and you should check the compuer for spyware, adware and any viruses or trojans.also i gave you a link to AVG anti vurs software and a link to zonelabs firewall, i reccommend you download all of the applications in the sources box and good luck, also once you download everything you must restart oyur computer after each install and scan after each install w/o any internet!!!

Good Luck

Rusty Nut is totally right. Some sights have tracking cookies, and the best example i can give you is piratebay, which is partnered with a porn site, so even though you don't go on it, it will still appear. I am pretty sure if you saw no porn sites, then somebody from your family must have seen the pop-up and cancelled it, so i can say that AT LEAST someone has the knowledge of what has happened. The best thing you can do is check the porn sites. If there are a lot of different sites instead of one then probably somebody needs to fess up, but you're a 16 year old guy, i don't think you need to make an issue about this. No offence, but if your sisters are teens, and the porn videos are mostly showing hot men, than it's them, and if it's showing hot girls or lebos, then it's your dad.

Hello,
these kind of sites can be downloaded to your PC if you access a non trusted site. it is a spy that associated with these sites.

Could someone be hacking our pc? I don't think so.

However, you can prevent these kind of problems by installing an AV and let it up to date. also it is better to update your OS and make it up to date.

you can fix this by install "Ad-ware" sw and run it in safe mode to clean your computer.

best regards...

there's one thing u could do ... if u think that someone might have hacked your computer then,
go to www.download.com-->> download a software called ZoneAlarmPro
it is a software which will inform to you if any one is trying to access your computer and it will ask you to decide weather` to allow the person or computer to access your computer or not !!!
One more thing is that you must understand that no one can store files in ur desktop or no one can access your computer while its switched off ( cas if the comp is off there will be no power supply to your hard-disk, so one cannot read it or write files in the hard disk)..

the most likely thing is that someone of the three is doin it...

Spyware my friend, spyware. Click the start menu, go to My Computer and look for anykind of program you havent seen there b4. Delete it. If you can't delete it, take it to Best Buy, they will fix it in half an hour and, unlike myself, please remember to take your porn CD out of the hard drive b4 going.

someone has probably visited a porn site, maybe by accident or maybe not. looks as if your firewall is not on or not effective.
