is it just the media frenzy caused by his controversial statements claiming that the Da Vinci code was based on factual evidence or are they good books?

how do you read him:
as a controversial historian who is willing to challenge soceity's perception of the life of Christ?
or as just another story teller?

They are not good books. I'm sorry , Dan, but it really is trash. I can read almost anything, I eat books, but I couldn't finish Da Vinci thingo. It was awful.

After reading all of his works, I may say that he had written the same novel.

He has the same storyline in each novel, so I can guess the events from the beginning.

I do believe he's a humble story teller who knows somethings that are not available for everybody and that's what makes him the best seller.

I do agree with him a lot, I support what he said in The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, but I don't think that he's a controversial historian, or even a good story teller!

He is just a fiction writer. I don't think he is really trying to make a statement with the Da Vinci code or any of his other books. Angels and Demons was a better book, and the ambigrams were cool as ****. Digital Fortress was an earlier book, and though the ending was a bit weak, it was an action packed thriller and would make a great movie if the ending were improved. People shouldn't look at the DV Code as anything other than another fiction book, and a good read if it is your type of book. The controversy stems from people making too much of it and worrying about people who take it to be true. If it were meant to be true, it wouldn't be in fiction.

good question. first tjhe davinci code is the only brown book I've read, so my overview is limited. but i can tell you that the davinci code is both a great read and historical fiction. that means that hte story talks about history but isn't factual. he based the story on fact- like it's historically true that emporer constantine did alter the bible to suit himself- but we don't know( and brown doesn't know) how much he actually altered it. so yes, it's historical and a very well written and thoughtful book. I believe that all "christians" shoul;d read this book and think about the implications of someone altering their holy book.

He's just a good storyteller. As much as I thought DaVinci code was very poorly written, the story drew me in and pulled me along - I couldn't put it down just because I wanted to find out what happened and how it would end.

He is a great storyteller who like Tom Clancy(who gets the military,CIA et al to say no comment when asked about portions of the book), throws in just enough"fact" to make it "intriguing"...a little press never hurt anybody, good or bad. irrelevant if a certain percentage makes sense....again great stories though, and a little to think about perhaps....

His books are interesting...he has some ideas and points....
And what he claims could be true, who knows? Be open-minded and have doubts about everything....who knows if bible is true anyway? Seek the truth yourself, don't let Dan Braun or priests tell you what to believe

dan brown is just a very good storyteller. people get far too involoved in his books and start to believe what they are reading. he made people question their faith which is no bad thing. if you trust what you believe in you will always believe no matter what other people tell you
