Amway went through their hyper-growth period years ago. Those who were involved then did very well. I, for one, run the other direction when approached by Amway because they are so secretive about what they do. They have a bad reputation because of their cult-like approach.
When looking for a home business you should start by checking to see if they are in good standing with the Better Business Bureau, after that comes the product. Is it something people are looking for or something you are trying to convince the customer they are looking for? You have to believe in your product in order to sell it. Then you need to really look at the compensation plan...at what stage do you start earning an income? Another huge consideration is the Baby Boomers....what are they looking for now? In the late 40's to 50's, Gerber Baby Food saw an opportunity and made a fortune, in the 60's it was Fisher Price and Mattel, the 70's saw a surge in real estate, etc. Any time you have a product that the boomers are looking for, you have an 18 year window of opportunity. Therefore, you need to seek a company that has not experienced hyper-growth yet but is about to. What the boomers are spending billions of dollars on now is their health and anti-aging products or formulas. Anytime you can stay ahead of the boomers with a product, you will succeed.

It is the most misunderstood company.I am not saying this but the chartered accountant magazine has an article calling Amway one of the best business in the world. This is not a pyramid but a ulta pyramid, where everyone can do well or shall i say anyone who follows the Britt system does well. Please do not ask people who are no way connected with it. They are a very ethical company and they do not take your money away. They allow you to try their business for 90 days and If you don't like it they return back your money. No other company does this.Further, you can return even products after using around 30% and they pay you back ,but it has to be within one month. The products are highly concentrated and you can use them for a much longer time. For eg., their tooth paste is Rs.100 /but it will come for more than 3 months.A friend of mine who is a smoker has been using this paste since 1998, only as a customer and says NO OTHER PASTE HAS EVER REMOVED HIS SMOKING STAINS ON HIS TEETH EXCEPT THE AMWAY PASTE.So go to the right people to know more and not here. They never advertise and so each one assumes that he knows everything about Amway.Go check for your self and then tell me if I am wrong

Most people that work for Amway (now Quixnet) barely break even. There is a small (about $150) investment to start.
It is definitely a pyramid scheme, and those who started with this company many years ago are reporting success. Commissions trickle up to them from the beginners, and they get a piece of everyone's pie. It would take a lot of time and huge effort, as well as sales ability to pull it off in any less time than a few years.

Amway did not work out for my parents. If you want to start a business I have one that is much more reliable than amway and many many people have great success and it is not a scam.

Here is my experience with Amway. My brother worked this business for some years with some degree of success. He also had to work his other job to make ends meet. You are going to put in a lot of hours and you can't be assured of success. Here are some of the things to consider. If you are willing to sell high price point, high quality products; go for this dream. If you are willing to be known as the Amway guy, because you will try to get your friends in to this, go for it. The company is reliable however if you want to make it in the company you have to determine what price you are willing to pay. Live your passion!!!

I would say that Amway is like any other direct selling business--that you get out of it what you put into it. However, I know a couple who went wholeheartedly into it. They even built up their line. They never really made any money. At least not equal to their effort. I think all the money to be made with this enterprise has been made. Amway's market has been saturated. Try another direct selling company.

no, i tried to get involved with them before because a family member was already. the family member swallowed their (amways) bull hook line and sinker, and they spent more $ than ever came in, so id say stay clear. the family member was always thinking it would turn around, but eventually went broke.
