I have a dirt driveway which I would like to have paving. I am wondering what I could estimate the cost to be for paving approx 40 feet by 10 feet by a pro. Can someone recommend other options besides paving? I don't want stones, live in Northeast. Please provide some details if possible.

Concrete, done well by a pro, is your most durable and lasting choice. I live in the upper Midwest, and concrete handles the weather extremes--it's easy to clear in the winter, too. Where I live, flatwork like this costs at $4 per square foot. If you upgrade to stamped concrete (stamped with forms and dyed to look like stone or brick), your costs will go up.

The only other option is to use Paving Brick, which is more money than Concrete or asphalt- you cost will depend a bit on dirt removal and leveling of the Drive, my guess is about $2000.

paving is cheaper than a concrete drive. if u pay the extra and have the company install 6" of stone under pavement rather than the standard 4" u will have a great drive.

if u go concrete, make sure u have them put in expanding joints every 10'. we use metal key ways. makes for a good job and the concrete will crack on these joints. and it will crack!

Concrete driveway. The concrete company will give you a quote as to the approx. cost of pouring a concrete driveway. You could add a colour tint for added effect.
