I would imagine that if it is said to be half empty, you might be requesting for the glass to be refilled.
Whereas if one replies the glass is half full would possibly indicate that this is the one for the road and that is where he/she intends to be heading.

The pessimist says the glass is half empty.
The engineer says the glass is twice the size it should be.

If you think positively, you would go with hall full. Everybody thinks differently and being positive that's a very powerful motivational drive.

If you are drinking it, it is half empty
Deep huh? There is a psychology to that....expectations in the filling, and a sense of loss as you drain it.....
