Enough to fund every welfare program that the repuglicans hate so much and leave money for a good down payment on national health care. But they would rather keep feeding the war machine, while people in this country go without basic needs. China will not have to ever fire a missile to take over the United States, they can just buy us. If the price is right I think Bush would sell us too.

Does US treasury really has to pay interest on national debts, if any. I dont think US treasury has any internal or national borrowings.It is the richest body in this world why would it borrow any thing.

They don't!!! We are broke!! You think we have 8 trillion dollars as a national deficit for no apparent reason??? We spent all our money and that's our negative balance. You know who we owe that too???
Other Countries like China, Japan, Thailand, Germany...etc... we are borrowing money from other countries to pay for everything.
As far as interest is concerned ...it's Government infrastructure!!! Until we can pay off the national debt. It's like collateral for them!!!
