If you can't spell there are ways to learn, read more often, practice, learn rules or if all else fails look the word up, if you don't know how to spell it, there are ways to tell look it up in a search engine something like a town name Cinncinati, type it in see if yahoo gives you a choice, if it's a word some for example type the word the way you think it is spelled into m-w.com then check the definitions from there. if that doesn't help try spelling it phoneticly (the way it sounds) see what pops up.

I think it's a superiority thing to criticise someone who has misspelled something.
I suppose some people may view poor spelling as a sign of being lazy but you are right, some people have learning difficulties etc.

Its not helpful to criticise someones spelling, but when there is a built in spell checker when you answer a question or write a question then to have mistakes in your spelling is just plain lazy. If people can't understand what it is you are asking because your spelling is so bad then you are not going to get any helpful advice.

Well, i guess we have to live with it. We cannot please anybody nor we can control them. There are critics who love doing it just for the fun of it. Others, do it to help as well, and thats constructive criticism. There are some who do it to embarrass or humiliate others, and this one is destructive criticism which usually for ego-boosting reason. However, those being criticized are sometimes at fault as well. There are those, who take it in a positive way and accept it well. Others however get easily offended, or ego-busted and get mad and negative reactions. So i guess it depends how you take the criticism. :-D

The spelling thing is actually a "Yahoo!Answers" Rule. Check it out:
http://answers.yahoo.com/info/community_guidelines.php
"USE ENGLISH ONLY: Please do not use other languages or symbols. Also, spelling and grammar count! Be sure to check your spelling and grammar, as content that is unreadable due to excessive typos may also be deleted."
