What I've read is that not long back (probably at the turn of previous century) Santa could be dressed in any color, but the current form is a result of a campaign by Coca Cola.

Because the image of Santa Claus that we readily know of was created by Coca Cola - the idea of Santa being fat and adorned in Red is all a promotional marketting scheme that Coca Cola used for their initial ads during the Christmas era in the pre50s!

the reason that Santa wears pink is as a results of the fact Coca Cola created an advert of him in pink and white so as that he become Coca Cola hues. yet there is yet another concept... Santa's sleigh has 2 runners, 2 a lot of toys and eight reindeer 2 plus 2 plus 8 makes twelve. There are twelve inches in a foot. Rulers are a foot long. Queen Elizabeth II is a ruler and is likewise the call of the main important deliver that sails the seven seas. Seas have fish and fish have fins. The Finns fought the Russians and the Russians are pink. Santa is often Russian (rushin') and that's the reason he's wearing pink! ROFL i become watching WWE uncooked purely then and Chris Jericho become dressed up as Santa :P

There was once a bishop named Nicholas who lived in Turkey. Not much is known about him, but he was said to be very kind to children in need. After he died, the church made him the saint of children. Why does St. Nicholas, or Santa Claus, wear red and white? Because that's what Catholic bishops wear!
