if the head gasket is cracked the best thing to do would be to sell the car , to fix it you would need to sand off the heads and all kind of other crap and it would cost about $300.00 or more and it is hard labor , toyotas are harder to work on than american cars are so it might cost over 300 it depends on where you take it , i'll fix it for $400.00 my price is a lil higher because i don't like to work on toyotas ... but you moght find a lower price somewhere
good luck

if you are sure it is the head gasket and not a cracked head it is not that expensive to repair. this also depends on where you live. a friend of mine just blew his head gasket last month on a tsi talon 2.0L and it only cost him about $250 much cheaper than buying a new car. are you very mechanically inclined? it is not really that difficult to change a head gasket. you have to remove the valve cover and any thing attached to the head. remove the head bolts. remove the old gasket and residue from it. then replace with a new gasket. put every thing back in place. get the torque specs from a toyota dealer for your model of engine and torque it to those specs.

It isn't really that expensive for the mechanic to fix... like a couple of hundred bucks to ship out the head and replace it... and a little bit of labor... but you will probably pay between 1200 and 2000 dollars... unless you have a homie that is a mechanic and will not charge you full pop.

yes, i would guess at least 500$, try to find someone who can fix it for you, because the labor is the expensive part.
