Good philosophical question that. Not because I'm referring to anyone in particular but because I'm NOT. Who would you think of? Basically my question is this - for your OPINION: Beauty - objective or subjective?

Thanks

Aesthetical presence is not everything, they say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Just because someone does not necessarily look pleasing to the eye does not mean that they are not beautiful in their own way

I think perhaps it could be both depending on who you're asking. Me, personally, when I saw isn't she pretty? I thought you were going to ask about some celebrity. I'm not sure whether that was just a knee jerk reaction or because I've been spending way too much time on Y!A responding to celebrity gossip..

My opinion? Beauty is subjective.. I suppose, while I would think most people would agree that say a supermodel like Gisele would have to be nothing but extraordinarily beautiful, there might be someone out there who looks at her and find her to be too tall and lacking in a womanly figure to be repulsive. Who knows?

beauty is in the eye pf the beholder . However it is believed that humans like faces to be symmetrical , and scientists have devised a "map " with which they can superimpose over a picture of someones face and if it fits in to the correct points of the map then they are considered beautiful.!!! they did this with a lot of the super models faces and the majority fit , Angelina Jolie 's face fit almost exactly . it pleases the eye when things are equal .

subjective. Everyone likes different things and women see women in a different light to men, we can see when a woman is 'trying too hard' and we are less inclined to call her pretty and that's why men think women are jealous of each other.

If a woman carries herself in an arrogant and conceited way, my experience has been that men cannot see that but other women can.

That is why the men will call her pretty but a woman may disagree.

But this is just my theory though so not a lot of weight can be attached to it.

Beauty is subjective in general but they have that golden means ratio thing that proves we like what is synchronized and has balance. That means there is beauty that is objective. For the most part though I believe beauty is subjective

Beauty is subjective. The term "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" is indeed to be taken to heart. Those who see and form opinons of beauty see differently than those who form opinons of unattractiveness, even though they're looking at the same thing, person, or place. It all depends on one's preferences, such as one man may prefer slender women, and others may prefer thick-bodied women, no woman is "ugly", they merely don't meet one's preferences.

Think it must be in the eye of the beholder. I once fell for a guy and I thought he was absolutely beautiful and every time i saw him my heart jumped at how lovely he was. No one else could see it.........

i've heard that beauty is in the behind of the holder! But I sometimes think as person is pretty or handsome but when you get to know them or see antoher side of them they are ugly. some people by reverse become beautiful. looks are so transitory.

Hmm... well I guess I find some guys very attractive who my friends say are average, or just downright ''mingers'' so I'd say.... beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I thought of the girl my boyfriend left me for. I couldn't help it, and as much as I him for what he did to me, she is beautiful - she's a fantastic person. So for me, it was subjective.
