You could have had less hate in your question, and it would have given you better responses. While you live your life inside your White picket fence, these artists (whether we agree or not) are telling stories that they've lived, and endured.
Some are victimized too, as a song called 6:00 in the morning would say, of Cops that would get bored and for no reason beat into a black man's home, beat him up and take him into jail for no reason while he was asleep. Like these are many more, such as Fight the Power (which is mostly political and many many more about violence towards black people, injustice and much more.
Not all is good, yes, it's gotten pretty nasty actually. But in the beginning it was more about speaking out, and even though violence towards black people was NOT uncommon, Rap music became a way for this injustice to be spoke of out loud. I wish it once again became what it once was, political, educated, philosophical. Those WERE the days.

Funny how you ask for no hateful responses with such a loaded question worded the way you did..
And I say this as a person who doesn't like rap music. Rap wasn't always the way it is today. It used to have a good message and now it's mostly about pimping hoes on 24s and getting shot or whatever. But when did anyone suggest that rap should solve something? It's just music and they have every right to it.

50 cent is just his nickname, of course his real name isn't that but he gave himself that name when he went into the music business. He will give his kid a regular name and then some freeky nickname like '25 cents' or something equally stupid.
He makes hateful music because that's what sells nowadays. He's made alot of money off his violent songs so he'll continue that way.

Crap music is NOT intended to solve ANYTHING. It is intended to make lots of money for the record companies that market it, period. As far as any artistic quality or talent, that is not required. You just have to make a good video and try your hardest to offend and shock as many people as you can, and all of a sudden your considered a musical genius.
As long as people keep listening and buying this crap, these companies will continue to pump out as much of it as they can. As long as you can hold a microphone to your mouth and put sentences together, hey you too can be a star!!
As far as what 50cents will name his next child, who really gives a **** !

I agree, modern rap is polluted with morons who think hos, killing, and pimped out cars is all there is to life, they probably rap about these things because its what people on the street want to hear, that someones life is as bad as theirs, considering it actually isnt since they're rich..but its easier to just forget and let people do and listen to what they want since you cant change anything and nor can i

Cypress hill! i agree (with each thing except for the lil wayne area) hip hop replaced into once so reliable, that's particularly undesirable now. Its real dude we would never have real hip-hop ever again. yet that shouldnt end you from listening to the 'oldies'

You don't want hateful responses but your question sounds hateful. So any attempt to explain rap culture and its phenomenon to you would be no doubt a waste of time.
