The shading...outline gets u kinda numbed and use to it...when I had the one done on my ankle the shading hurt a lot more then the rest....hubby has one on his back and said the shading hurt worse..

The feeling is the same throughout the tattooing just the shading will take more time and cover a larger area.

shading will hurt more but even the lining can sting. i have 2 and both are shaded, both hurting the equal when being done. on your back, the nerves on your spinal cord may make you feel the pAIN morel

I say outline......the shading wasn't nearly as bad for me. Well, the white shading hurts pretty good.

Getting a tattoo over any part where there's bone is gonna hurt.(the spine,elbow)and definetly shading.

no matter how bright the sun is, and how protected from the sun you are, a tatoo is still gonna hurt. i was sore for a couple days when i had a big red heart put on my pubic area
