im pretty darkstyled myself but i have reason to be. now even preppy ppl want to be freaks . ofcoarse thay already have freind that will still be their freind but there are alot of dowsides to being goth. being constantly yelled at by ppl who you dont even know really sucks. why do they want that. besides their ruining the goth culture . i am a very elegant goth who wears corsets and dresses they wear a black shirt and jeans and claim their goth. hmm . WHY!

Because gothic - not real gothic, but what they think is gothic - is becoming more popular, due to media exposure and trendsellers like Hot Topic. They co-opt the look without taking part in the intellectual process, making it more and more difficult for outsiders to tell what's goth and what's not. Every time some 14 -year - old claims 'i am goth and i luv hottopic and slipkot and evenesence' a very small piece of me dies. Anyway, I asked and answered some questions on similar subjects. well its the same with every other style. They wanna be what it is cuz they think its cool and its the **** but most of them prolly dont even do what exactly they are trying to be like wannabe gangstas dont shoot anybody cuz theyre wannabes
