i left my pc on,later i came in here and the screen saver was on (like normal) i went to bed and came back and the thing was shutting down and re-starting.i do not have it set to hybernate or anything like that..

its 3:30 am here.everyone is asleep.i got up to get a drink,went to bed(not asleep)came back in here to get online when this happened.

Depending on what operating system you are running, it could have shut down automatically, although it sounds like this has never happened before.

Have a pet, child or partner that might have accidently hit the power or reset button? When the computer is shutting down, then it usually is because one of our children hit the reset or power button.

Hackers can use your computer at any given time, whether it's in-use by you, or idle. The fact is, if it's electronic, it can be hacked. Unauthorized shutdown else where means you had an intrusion, like your CD drive opening & closing for no reason. It's almost the same scenario as hacking a car by satellite & driving it to a location the driver knows nothing of, but less frightening...

you have a virus. its packed with spyware and keyloggers dont use your creditcard or anything you dont want any1 but you 2 know. a keylogger is a program that loggs every keystroke wether u press esc or tab they can see it.
best way to remove is get norton anti virus and boot from the CD or go into safe mode. i hope your using windows or this is no help.
