I think the only way to do that is put the songs you want from the other ipod on a playlist and make a CD. Then take the CD and open the CD with itunes. Then there is a button on the top-right that when you click it itunes copies all the songs that are on the CD to your itunes library.

USB Cord. A Universal USB cord. I have an Ipod.....thats all you should need. You might need the driver for the Ipod too. Your friend should have this disk.

Use your ipod access software and transfer it to your system and then retransfer it back to Ipod
