I play my tascam recordings through my sound card input port.
I use Focus MP3 Recorder. I think that is what it is called. I just call it "Focus".

Focus will record sound streams through many different areas on your computer. You can select input, which means, input from sound card and select noise reduction to get a clean transfer of the recorded sound stream, and select either WAV, OGG, MP3, or WMV file format to record in. Once you done all that, you can just press record while your recorder is playing through the sound card input connection.

Hopefully, I didn't get too technical.

Sometimes when recording through a onboard or cheap sound card, the recorded stream will sound like it was shoved through a tunnel first and the recorder tried to record the sound from the outside of the tunnel.

To fix this, try using a pc microphone. Plug the microphone into the mic slot of the sound card device. You will need to change only one setting in Focus, which is, you must change the how you will receive the sound stream. You will select, mic, or something equivilent to that. Then press record in Focus and play on your recorder to record the stream from your recording device to the mic through the sound card device to Focus and the output of the stream will get dumped into your specified file format in the focus directory (default).

This is how I do it. You can buy more expensive recorders that record on the recorder itself, and all you have to do is hook the device up to the computer with an usb cable and use software to copy the recorded songs to the computer, but to do it the cheap way, you must do as I have said.

Hope this helps you out!
