I have not heard of the website you mention. When I typed it in my browser, it's an invalid website.

You are good to be wary. Many enter this field having taken only a correspondance course, without having any real expertise whatsoever. This is not a field where you "learn as you go." Many have attempted, and failed - or found themselves on the wrong end of a lawsuit because they made one mistake in the process that costs them dearly.

When contacting a judgment recovery firm, you need to find out:

1) Their background. Do they have experience in credit, collections, law, or private investigation? How many years experience?

2) Ask them how they got into their business. Did they take a judgment recovery course? Or did their business evolve naturally out of what they were already doing? You should feel confident if your recovery firm has collections personnel who came out of private investigation, law or law enforcement, or corporate credit and collections. If not, walk away.

3) Do they offer to "prescreen" your judgment for "collectibility"? Be suspect. Only the judgment creditor is authorized to conduct an investigation of the debtor. It's plausible that the company could be violating the law. Furthermore, it's not possible to determine collecitibility at first blush. Hidden assets of the debtor take time to investigate - and that investigation is only legal after the appropriate agreements have been signed and filed into the court-of-origin.

This company offers a good Q & A on this subject - see sources below -
