Without a doubt, Jean Luc Picard. While his obvious display of leadership can not be debated, he has also proven himself a man of integrity, honor and compasion. He has already earned the eternal respect of nearly every resident of not only earth, but of countless other worlds as well. His diplomacy is unmatched (Klingons, Ferengi, Vulcan, etc) and he has proven himself time and time again to be a man of fairness and distinction. With the heart of a poet and the soul of an explorer, he could very well be the perfect man to lead all of humanity.
I'd vote for him.

Kirk for 2 reasons.
Kirk was the smartest and the best equiped person to handle any situation with grace.
Secondly. He would be represented by the greatest actor to grace stage and screen. Who else than the Great William Shatner. Actor Author and all around role model for America and the world.

Captain James T. Kirk. Anyone who can fly through space in a three sided plywood box whose only energy source is blinking Christmas lights, can do anything.

Jean Luc Picard. He is the most civilized of the lot, and isn't that the sort of person who should be running things?
