Under the old common law, the rule of big toe stated that two Starbucks could not be so far apart that you would injure your big toe walking from one to the next.

This was modified in 1982 under the Equal Espresso Protection Act based on the number of different flavors of coffee served. It was considered a culinary rights violation to deny an consumer the right to purchase a certain flavor of coffee within a certain distance. So, if one Starbucks did not carry Vanilla Mocha, another nearby Starbucks must be created to do so.

The court later interpreted the Equal Espresso Protection Act to include supermarket coffee shops, under the theory that consumers who had the option of purchasing the coffee in the supermarket had "ample alternative means" and thus the distance between Starbucks where the flavors where pre-mixed was just a "Time-Place-Mocha" regulation.

It should be zero.

Their coffee, Seattke stype, is too dark and flavor from the bean has long gone.

Try buy your own single pump semi-automatic espresso machine. And try Kenyan or Ethiopean mixed with Sumatra. Bean should be roasted not too dark so that original flavor is left.

You also need to get Burr grinder.

Semi-Automatic Espresso machine for home use should go around $300 - $500. Decent Burr grider should go around $150. 1/2 lb of whole bean should cost you $5, and should last 2-3 weeks for single shot (1lb of coffee last merginally 2 weeks for me). It is not too expense considering how much money you are spending at Starbucks.

I love my Isomac Venus.
