Depends where 'here' is. It also depends if you mean bigger in the sense of a social and business phenomenon or if you mean bigger in the sense of participation?

It makes a big difference. Actually here in Vancouver Canada, more people play soccer than play hockey and I'm pretty sure that that is also true for all of North America (even if you don't include Mexico) but Soccer doesn't even come close to Hockey when it comes to fan support or money spent and earned.

No way, soccer cannot overcome hockey here, because with the international championship titles being won by Team Canada in hockey on almost an consistent basis. If you also consider the nationalist reasons of this country and try to compare it to say...England (they invented soccer), we invented hockey, plus also compare the success that our soccer national team had to theirs... will right way turn most people off in this country because national success breeds national pride. If soccer were to catch on here, it would probably be in my guess after 20 years if Team Canada Hockey is no longer successful when that time arrives.
Fifa knows this as will as the hockey governing body, IIHF.

Anyway, you decide which one has the best answer...lol!

I dunno. i don't believe of hockey is amazingly enormous contained in the U. S.. I propose.. perchance in some states, yet even in those states (Minnesota, Michigan, enormous apple, North Dakota) the game nonetheless isn't interior an same universe via the indisputable fact that is in Canada. that is not any longer that we are being snobby about it, yet we ought to handle conceitedness coming from the smallest of hockey victories South of the border you get the experience that some human beings ignore whose recreation that is they're taking section in. I propose.. take the gold medal recreation for instance. the in undemanding words reason lots of individuals watched that is because team united states became in it. in the journey that that they had received, all you'll see throughout television is how that became the biggest recreation ever, etc, etc. yet because they lost that is actual all yet forgotten. it ought to probable be an same way if Canada performed the U. S. in baseball contained in the olympics and lost... we ought to imagine that is the most important recreation ever yet when we lost we ought to easily ignore about it. it really is because baseball (inspite of the actual undeniable actuality that commonplace the following) isn't a large... a minimum of to the degree hockey is. Hockey down there, compared, in simple terms isn't a huge deal. you actual advance an exciting subject matter... how can 2 international locations that are so culturally similar have such distinct activities thoughts? Even food thoughts! (i have been appeared at weird and wonderful down there for ordering fries with gravy... yet they look to imagine biscuits and gravy is wise... bypass figure). on the proper of the day we are only one fairly large fairly disfunctional family individuals.

Although Hockey is not huge, it's still MUCH bigger than soccer. I've never seen anyone in the states walking around in a soccer jersey.

Eventually it will catch on in north America.

But you have to think about the other states, like Minnesota, Michigan, New York. States like that. Hockey is big in those states.
