Boy Wonder WAYNE ROONEY is by far the BEST player - England was all at sea until Sven's patience finally snapped. Rooney's presence immediately transformed the frustrating stalemate into a fabulous finishing performance by England with Liverpool's dynamos Crouch & Gerrard telling strikes. An 18-year old whose mere presence inspires an entire team to win - that's phenomenal.

Reqiulme doing an amazing job for Argentina. Messi showed his class in the 15 mins he played against Serbia and Montenegro. But its too early to choose the best till the have a face off.

Difficult for me to say at this early stage, but my vote goes to the German full back defender Philipp Lahm.
He has been very impressive in the World Cup so far. He is a full-back who is not only good at doing his job, i.e. defense, but you have also noticed him run so fast, yet skillfully tackling the opposition, and making those amazing crosses to Klose and Podolski to set up goalscoring chances for his team. Plus, you also saw him score that amazing goal against Costa Rica.

Of all the players i've seen (i've missed a few matches) i think Lionel Messi of argentina has played the best even though he was on for only about 15 minutes yesterday. He scored once and brilliantly set up a goal.
