We pranked my friends car by covering it with Maxi-pads, now they are claiming that we stripped the paint. We dont know if its true or if they are just trying to make us feel bad. Help anyone?

I would think that highly unlikely. Manufacturers of consumer goods would stay away from anything that could potentially be harmful to the end user. Anything strong enough to damage the paint on a car would be very irritating to sensitive skin (as found in the general region where these are normally applied). Even though the adhesive would not normally be in contact with the skin, manufacturers would not take any chances.

It's possible it would damage the paint's clear coat--not a hard thing to do. But the paint itself? Nah. (With the exception of the crappy plastic paint Ford puts on their new model cars. That stuff flakes off when you sneeze.)

Still, if you've damaged the clear coat, the car will need to be wet-sanded and possibly re-painted. Tough luck on that one!

Rubbing alcohol is a great solvent for things like that. It won't strip the paint, either.

If they were used then the blood would corrode the paint.

If it COULD, there would be a lot of ladies with some SERIOUS
damage to their groin area.

WOW, it makes me shiver to think about it.

I would say to THEM, "show me. I think you're full of SH**"
