Although most people say they would never own a goat I have a friend who has several...he has started a great business renting out his goats to people who wish not to trim their grass...he has almost doubled his income renting out goats...and although I am from arkansas we are what most would consider high class...the goats are making him money twice fold...first he is able to rent them out and help people clear any yard or field with little effort...as a goat will eat anything...weeds, grass, tires...but he also makes money off of selling their fur...a cashmere goat can be shaved down and the fur be sold to make high dollar cashmere clothing...however with a yard so small you are most likely not to purchase a goat and start your own business....i would recommend you replace your live grass with artificial...several high dollar homes in this area are now doing so.....there are several products on the market now that have the look and feel of real grass but are made from recycled tires...it never has to be watered....never has to be cut...plus you could be the only home with green grass all year round...hope this helps...

I recently purchased an electric weed eater trimmer from wal-mart for $20. I use it to trim the lawn in the small areas that the lawnmower misses. You might want to try it. It's small, lightweight and very easy to use.

consider eliminating the grass all together, use a different sourse of ground cover, consider stones and size, if so lay heavy plastic first with a few holes for water to drain and then add the landscape material, sign up for freecycle in your area. (go to yahoo and www.freecycle.com and join
watch for free stuff--maybe rocks, ground cover such as murtle, could add a colorful flowering plant to add a bit of color also.

If you can find a manual lawnmower at a yard sale they work great! I picked one up years ago (craftsman brand) and at that time it was 15 years old and still very sharp!

Try an "old school" pre-motorized mower. I found one at a garage sale for 5 dollars and it works great!!!!!
