I guess what bothers me is that "marriage" is defined in the Holy Bible as between a man and a woman. Even down to state marriage license documents. My marriage license says "Holy Union of Matrimony".

In my mind, no one can redefine it to suit their own purposes. So there can be no marriage between gays.

But this whole pile of crap is sold as giving rights to gay couples. Fine, there is nothing to stop these partners from going to a lawyer and defining in legal docuemtns their desires for whatever it is they want.

It just ain't marriage unless it is 1 man and 1 woman.

I think that I heard a comedian put it best a number of years ago. He said something along the lines of " gays have just as much right to loose half there stuff like everyone else". What I mean by that is people need to get a grip. If your against gay marriage make that a person decision for your own life, but stop telling everyone else what to do. Nobody likes to be told what they can and can't do. There are way more important issues on the table. If you are gay and wish to be married bum bard your local government official.

Many people say that Gays already have it made as far as having a life partner, you have the choice to stay or go and to divide your own property without outside interference, some say that is a good thing by looking for world wide recognition, acceptance and legalization of Gay marriages you may be bearing a greater burden that you realize

For one thing even if gat marriages were made legal there is no liklihood of there being so many marriage as to be socially significant--much less formig communities. The present tendency to show solidarity of gays is obviously a reaction engendered by feas of social ostracitism If they become normal like other marriages this tendency of congratating may disappear.Despite our fears homosexuality is not so high in society as to pose a threat to it.Just because it is underground we fear to tread. The general fear that if gay marriage were to be regularised there will be a sudden increase in its practice is unfounded. Red Light districts are in every locality but does it mean that every other man/woman is attrracted towards them. In fact even a cursory glance at the customers may show that they are the ones deprived of sex on account of some contributory factors-understanding wige, estragements ,living away from families etc.

I think marriage should be legal for the gay community. They have all the legal smeagal stuff to worry about just like the heterosexual. If people think living together is a sin, why should it be any different for gay people. Give them what they want. What would it hurt?

Teach people to read. I'm from Ohio and the way that had it worded was so confusing I'm sure most people couldn't figure out if for meant for allow or against meant against the bill. I read our city post to break down the ballot on what the jargon meant before voting so I knew; but I'm also the person who researches canadets past voting stances. to see if they go by what I want. I know like 5 people who actually voted the wrong way by accident.

If marriage means that much to you then there is always the option to move to Canada, where it is legal. No one is making you stay in America, are they?
