We always called it a doughnut. If you need to buy one for cheap, check out the salvage yards, you can find pre-owned ones, but never used for SUPER cheap. I pad $25 for my last spare.

A regular tire, the same size that is already on the car, is a spare, the rediculously small spares are commonly refered to as 'donuts'.
