The effectiveness of the pill is 98% which means that 2 out of every 100 women per year will get pregnant using an oral contraceptive. In order for the pill to be effective it must be taken at the same time every day. For some brands of birth control pills, missing your pill by as little as 2-4 hours can make the pill ineffective as a form of birth control. In all cases, it is recommended that if you miss taking your pill by more than 2 hours, you should:
use an alternative form of birth control (condoms and foam) for the rest of your cycle
continue to take the remainder of your pills on your normal schedule
Please remember that the pill doesn't protect against S.T.D.'s, which includes A.I.D.S.. Please use condoms and foam.

What kind of birth control are you talking about? If you mean the pill, it generally takes a month to become effective. But also remember, birth control is only going to protect you from getting pregnant. Make sure that the person you are with has been tested for STDs before having unprotected sex.

it really is never safe to not use a condom even tho birth control can prevent pregnacy it cant prevent disease.so if ur having more than 1 sex partner i would not stop using condoms and unless i had known my partner for a while and knew he was not having sex with other ppl the i would still use condoms.

If you are sure that your partner is faithful and won't pass on a STD then I would be on the pill (faithfully daily, not missing any pills) for 2 months..if you want to have sex before then use a condom...The condom is a barrier for STD's including unwanted pregnancy...

Never! Birth control can't protect you from AIDS! If you are recently married, then you both need to get tested first before you make that decision. My husband and I did not know the results of our HIV test when we got married. It was pure torture waiting to get my results a few weeks ago. Please, don't put yourself through that baby girl. Get tested BEFORE getting rid of the condom, and then make sure that you are in a committed relationship. Sadly, if you listen to the news of husbands and wives cheating on each other, even that could prove to be fatal. May God bless you.

It is always safer to use protection, but after over a month any type of birth control is good by that time.

I'd say almost never because the pill isn't 100% effective, plus it wont protect you against AIDS, HIV, or any other types of diseases out there. So just play it safe, and always have your man wear a rain coat before he goes out to play with you.

NEVER!! There is always going to be diseases out there, I do not care who you are with. You must consider, even though this is you're third time, for example, how many people has your partner been with? You sleep with everyone your partner has been with and everyone they have been with and so on....well you get the picture. There is alot of scary crap out there that does not wash off!! Please always use a condemn.

You still need to know your partner well,
as sex without condom could still leave you at risk for STD's.

it's safe to have condom-free sex after you and your partner have been tested for STDs.
