Computer science typically focuses on the mathematics and technical aspects of computers, computer languages, and operating systems.
IT is more concerned with the bigger picture, and usually has a more business-oriented outlook than CS, which is more of scientific view. IT managers don't need to know how the programs or hardware does their jobs, they just need to know how to put everything together to deliver a solution.
Note that many companies do use these terms somewhat interchangeably, but CS is a definite scientific discipline, and IT is a business discipline.

Informational Technology, commonly referred to as IT has similarities and differences between computer science. For the similarities, both require quite a bit of computer use, additionally both work and publish work on the internet usually. However there are differences, computer science relates to advancing the capacities which computers can be used for including, developing applications, hardware, and protocols. Applications include programs, hardware include chips, boards, and processors, protocols are like internet protocols and RSS feeds. IT people however build on top of the work that computer scientists do. For example, a computer scientist may create RSS feeds, but an IT person may find new uses, and add content. IT is usually are stuck in hell working on systems and constantly repairing broken computers.

Computer science is the study of the theoretical foundations of information and computation and their implementation and application in computer systems.[1][2][3] Many diverse fields exist within the broader discipline of computer science; some emphasize the computation of specific results (such as computer graphics), while others (such as computational complexity theory) relate to properties of computational problems. Still others focus on the challenges in implementing computations. For example, programming language theory studies approaches to describing a computation, while computer programming applies specific programming languages to craft a solution to some concrete computational problem.
Information technology (IT, also known as Information and Communication(s) Technology (ICT) and Infocomm, especially in Asia) is a broad subject concerned with technology and other aspects of managing and processing information, especially in large organizations.
In particular, IT deals with the use of electronic computers and computer software to convert, store, protect, process, transmit, and retrieve information. For that reason, computer professionals are often called IT specialists, and the division of a company or university that deals with software technology is often called the IT department. Other names for the latter are information services (IS) or management information services (MIS), managed service providers (MSP).
In the United Kingdom education system, information technology was formally integrated into the school curriculum when the National Curriculum was devised. It was quickly realised that the work covered was useful in all subjects. With the arrival of the internet and the broadband connections to all schools, the application of IT knowledge, skills and understanding in all subjects became a reality. This change in emphasis has resulted in a change of name from Information Technology (IT) to Information and Communication Technology (ICT). ICT in Education can be understood as the application of digital equipment to all aspects of teaching and learning. It is present in almost all schools and is of growing influence.

there is not really any difference between them, its just using different wording.
but in some colleges etc
computer science will include a lot more programming computer to IT support that u get from information technology.

Information Technology is the bigger picture compared to computer science
CSE in more about software languages (systems programming, assemblers, etc…) where as IT not only include the software languages but also the tool that make the communication or architecture (routers, switches, etc…) possible.
But presently in the industry CSE is more considered because its more streamlined and ever company know about its subjects. Which is not the case with IT
