What strategies do you use to teach them? I'm so used to primary 5 and 6 it's a bit of an adjustment. :P

Give them plenty of opportunities to get up and move around. Cooperative groups work well. You must remember to model for them the things you want them to do. Patience is key and so is structure. They are very anxious to please and will thrive with your excitement about their learning! Weekly themes work very nicely- both for you (it's easy to plan), and for them (they keep focused).

I have taught older children and younger and I have found that the younger ones definitely have a shorter attention span. I've heard the rule of thumb is to not make them sit for a time that is more than 10 minutes per year of age before giving them a break.
