It really does not matter on your OS it matters on the version of norton. Norton or any symantec service installs a few subcomponents to get norton anti-virus to work. What you will have to bassed on the version you have is remove those subcomponents, such things like AutoUpdate and WMI filter for norton are things you will have to remove to ensure that norton is completly cleaned out. You can always remove stuff via two ways (depending on the os) you can run the msi package with the uninstall argument and the name of the msi or you can do it the old fashion way of going to start->control panel->Add Remove programs. make sure you remove notron and all sub components and usually you have to remove one piece before you can remove another. If you have a problem where a virus or piece of spywhere has disabled the program or deleted the necessary entry to where the mapping location is then run the installation program from the CDROM or the installation package that you have on your computer. It should prompt you if the necessary keys are not removed to remove the program from the computer. If it does not then you may have to reinstall the program and then remove it.

Normal uninstall won't get rid of Norton properly it will have bits of it left all over your computer. It's a dreadful program and it bogs your computer down something terrible. Download CCleaner at http://ccleaner.com and go into its tool section and there is an uninstaller in it that will get rid of it more effectively. Run the cleaner and issues option too and it will make a new computer of it. Use AVG instead of Norton. Jules, Australia.

Go to settings, then click on control panel then click on "Add & Remove programs."
Then scroll down the list of programs you have installed until you find Norton, then click on the "remove" and it will uninstall it for you.
This is the only way to uninstall that program with all it's components.
This works every time.
