It sounds like you know about where it is at. My brother lives in Castaic which is right next to Santa Clarita and Newhall. It's also really close to Magic Mountain.
Oxnard and Ventura are about an hours drive away. If you're going for a visit, It's a beautiful part of California. Nothing like LA, or San Francisco.

From the six flags themepark, on the freeway, the city (and its lake) is about 10 minutes away.
