The mother. Children tend to be more attached to the mother if she is loving, caring, and attentive. The mother does everything from change diapers, make dinner, make their beds, etc. However, the father usually is the person who teaches their children lessons about life and encourages them to stay in school.

Both parents play an important role in the upbringing of a child. In Islam the role of the mother is given a higher role from the time the child is born to the age of seven. From seven to fourteen the father begins to play a more important role perhaps than in the past. God in our belief wants a child to be developed properly through the work and attention and efforts of both parents.
Traditionally mothers have played a direct role in the upbringing process, while fathers provide indirect support, such as bring in the income, providing physical protection so that the mother may have the peace of mind and freedom to raise the children in their tradition at home and in an environment of safety and comfort.
A man asked Prophet Mohammad who should be respected more, the father or the mother. He replied that both have to be given respect and honor as both play a critical role in the matters of raising the child, and the Almighty has placed them right after the Lord Almighty and the great ones who lead people to God. The man asked what if your mother calls you and your father too needs you at the same time or who is more important in the eyes of God. He said, after God, if someone could be worshipped (which is not allowed) it would be the mother, and the man said who after the mother? he replied the mother again.... three times or according to some traditions nine times, and THEN the father.
God has made it so that the babies suckle from the mom and not from the dad for beginners. He could have given both parents the ability to suckle the child, but only one has been given that privilege, as the person who carries the child and whose body crafts the child is tuned to provide nourishment to the child. Similarly, females are endowed with gentleness and patience, have soft cheeks and breasts to give the child the comfort and security, soft voices etc. Women are certainly given a lot more tools to mother. Dads can be rough without meaning to or realizing it.
Single mothers however are handicapped, and single fathers are even worse off. It is best for the children to have both parents helping in this matter.

I don't think it's even right to say who is better. I mean you can stereotype parents, but in my family it is a very equal position. Other families may be different, but not in my situation. You can say the mother because she was the one who gave birth and went through it all, but if it is a girl, the father will treat his girl like "daddy's girl", and if it's a boy, i mean the father should think of the boy as his little man. So I see it equally unless someone shows me otherwise.

Children really need both parents go grow and mature naturally. Not saying that a child cannot grow up without one or the other. Mothers are more nurturing. Fathers tend to teach the child more about life. I think it really takes both to grow up having a good start on life.

possibly. I mean fathers are more desirable emotionally strong and would descipline a baby lot more desirable suitable then moms . Plus analyze have proved that maximum youthful ones who're raisedd through unmarried moms finally end up turning out to be criminals. Father figures are considerable in baby lifes. baby choose both mom and father both

Either. Parents are only as good as the effort they put into child rearing. No gender has a clear advantage. Single parents have proven that time and again. The problem with single parents is that many are too lazy, too self-absorbed, too busy, too overwhelmed, or too (fill in your favorite excuse) to give children the attention they need.

Mothers i think. Just because society encourages mothers/women to be more sensitive than males. Therefore mothers are easier to talk to, and they have less problem communicating to them without appearing like a "softie". Also women work less than men, so are around more for their kids. Of course there are exceptions, but most people i know are closer to mum than dads.

as a single mom i have given both roles as mom and dad and i must tell you that my son is truely afraid of his dad. i play and teach. his father only disciplines him when he is bad. my son is a good child that i would love to take anywhere. his dad makes him into a baby thug intraining and i dont want him around my child. my son tells everyone im his best friend not hid dada. i think moms make the best parents because we can be both the mom and the dad with out a moments notice. alot of moms with no dads in the picture raise happy and self sufficent children. so if i had to choose it would be the MOM!!!!!!!!

This is a trick question. Children require BOTH parents to be created, thus they need both paresnts in life. Either can equally be good, bad or somewhere in the middle.
