What about torture involved?
Suggest to you watch the Japanese film, " Audition." The year released 1999. Director: Takashi Miike.
If you what something new and entirely different.
It starts out as it seems a romance, but it is not.
There a lot of great Japanese horror films, a lot of the American directors keep redoing them.

AMITYVILLE HORROR (latest edition) is the scariest, dude. Everything is in it....I also like horror movies and also want to be a horror film director someday...lol. TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE is also very scary..also THE RING.... NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD...and mnay others which I forgot by now....I want to hear your thoughts about films in the future such as THE NUN...coz I haven't watch it yet.

The film "He Knows Your Alone" about a serial killer that targets brides-to-be. That one is quite nervy at times.
Tom Hanks is in it, but he's not very important to the story. So big whoop.

Man, a lot of folks would disagree, but I'd say, check out The Blaire Witch Project.
...I thought it was really creepy.
