The most popular sport in Ireland is rugby but also seen as there cricket team is going to the world cup next year, cricket will also be in the top few. Ireland's national sport with out a doubt use to be gaelic football but that has faded in recent years.

out of the two gaelic sports I think its going to be Hurling.
Gaelic football is a bit like Aussie rules but with more psychopaths.
Hurling is the oldest I think which was played in between different villages.
When I say between different villages I mean just that.
The pitch was the area between the two villages and the object was to put the ball over the bar in the opposite camp using any method possible and with the added benefit of big sticks called Hurleys.
Imagine Millwall versus Cardiff but following a ball. And with the coppers joining in. And everybody thinking Roy Keane is soft as shite.
Not a game if your name is Drogba or Robben
