I've been with the same girl for 2 years and we are in graduate school. She wants to get married because all of her friends have all just recently wed in the last two months. I say we wait until our degrees are finished so that we may start a marriage with a nice income.

its like when your friend gets a new car or truck u want one too. but don't do it just to satisfy her if she really loves u shell wait and hope not but if her friends rushed there marriage they'll see the consequences later (fights)(jobs)(money)(privet time) & (kids)good thinking dont hasitate

'cause it stinks being the only single gal in the pack who has to sit there and ooh and ahh over the diamond rings, then endure hours of talk about wedding plans, bridal gowns, silver place settings and china patterns....., then in about a year will come the pregnancies, baby showers, "I felt the baby kick" phone calls, birthing plan choices and Apgar score competitions.... then the wonder-kids themselves arrive and its no more girl-friends hanging out but Mommy get-togethers, and playdates and birthday parties...
So ...Girls have to choose: either get married and keep with this group of friends forever or let the boat sail and wave bye-bye those friends (they'll never be the same again) and start from scratch to find a new group of single friends.

She's caught up in the moment. Tell her that y'all couldn't have the perfect wedding right now, and go all out and spend alot of money on it. Y dont u ask her if u guy's could set a date, and start looking and planning, but make sure that date is after school is over!! Good Luck

It's a total girl thing to do. Once the newness of her friends marriages wears off...everything will be back to normal. Unless of course they keep bugging her about it. You two have only been together 2 years....that's a little early to be thinking about marriage anyway.

Its the fear that they might not get married... yet, many girls will understand that money is a high rate that causes problems.. so maybe to ease her brain, give her something like a promise ring... it might seem kiddish, but it says in a way that you want to be with her, but you want to make sure that you guys can be happy in the future

I dont know. My HUSBAND was like that. He wanted to get married before and pushed it when his 2 best friends got married.

the reason your girl wants to get married is because she wants what her friends have. she wants that excitement, thats all. you and her should sit down and talk and have an understanding on what you both want to do and decide. that would be the best thing to do.

It was backwards in my case, Me and my fiance' (at the time) went to my sisters wedding and HE got all mushy,pushing to get married. Well, we did. I wish I would've run the other way.

As many women get older, they feel inadequate if they are not married. Society makes women feel like there must be something wrong with them if they are not married by their mid-twenties.
